5EFE with 2E carburetor a good idea ?


Hi, my tercel 2E just died, and I need to replace it.
Lebanon market is small and it was impossible to find 5e with ECU and harness, so my current options:
carbureted 4E
installing my 2E carburetor on 5E via custom mount , this is frequently done here.
Would the 5E function adequately with 2E carburetor just like does the 3E ?

Most of us haven't seen a carb on a car factory since the 80's. If you can mount it then it should work. Personally I'd try to get a more common type carb but I have no idea what kind of market you have. Long story short though you could run it on motorcycle carbs if you have means to adapt them.

Share some pics? I've not seen many 4e or 5e carbed setups ior intakes.

I always wanted to do a 5e with a carb in a truly stripped chassis!

Should be fine. Obviously it will not be 'high performance' but it will work fine. You may need to rejet it.

They made 5th gens with carbs for other markets...probably a similar carb.

If you can look into a small weber carb. They will give you more aftermarket flexibility plus easier to tune.
