Tercel... what are you talkin bout man? I swapped out the stock shifter for a short shifter because it was hacked up and i wanted the throw reduction.

That tells you how to make your original shifter a much shorter throw. Mine was also cut off a couple inches above the bend and an aftermarket handle attached. 1st to 2nd gear is less than a 2 inch movement.

I thought you might enjoy a 90% reduction later on. I liked mine with the handle just barely above the plastics. As I've said 1st to 2nd gear was about a 2" throw. Even if mentioning this doesn't help you it will help others that weren't around at the time we all shortened our own shifters. At no cost.

I got mail in from flynn today, new to me factory knob installed and i have to say i agree, it feels way better than the cheapo knob i had to buy.
Thank you flynn, pics will go up tomorrow when i upload to photobucket.

And tercel, thank you for the tip, I'll have to try that at some point.

been a while since i updated this thread...

i blew my old rear motor mount to smithereens and got a GT_Revva replacement installed that feels way way better, thanks again Trevor!

I also have removed the ugly black side trim from both sides, debadged the rear as well. need to clean the car up again and get some pics...
