4efte 92 tercel

A few days ago i started to kick around the idea of building my second 4efte tercel and for fun I began looking around on Craigslist for a cheap 4th gen tercel......in comes japtenks's 1 hour old craigslist post.

Performance:
Engine Swap to 4e-fte Done by GT_REVVA back in 2004?
5Spd Manual
2.25" Full Exhaust
Apexi N1 Style Muffler 4" Tip
Lightened Flywheel /w Different Clutch (Do not remember what I put in anymore)
Lightened Pulley
Short shifter

Interior:
Paseo Gauge Cluster
Paseo Seats (except the back part of the back seat)
Paseo Door stills
Tinted Windows 35% front 30% back

Suspension:
Eibach Pro-kit 1.5" drop?
Rims - Konig Helium 15x6.5"
Paseo Front anti-Swaybar/ Upper Strut Bar
Kyb Gr2 Struts
Paseo Front Disk, Calipers
Ep-82 Rear axle (rear disks)
Adjustable camber plates for front (2 sets) and one fixt for the rear

There's some pictures in the member classified section. Not sure what my plans are for it yet but I'm throwing around the idea for a td04 setup then going into a 5efte once it's time. At this point I just need to haul it from Houston to san antonio and get the brakes unlocked lol. It's been sitting for a long time but still looks pretty good. We tried to do the math, there probably roughly about 60k on motor after swap and 100k on car and it was repainted red probably within last decade..

So after doing alot of reading and resaerch I think I know the direction I want to go in. Motor is 100% stock at this point. Plans are to have this setup by end of october for my birthday. Going to start off with some basic gauges for oil, boost and wideband. Then a fmic, electric boost controller, larger injectors and emanage blue (plug and play harness anyone?). Then I'll top it off with speedvision td04 turbo kit.

This seems to be the tried and true blueprint to go off from looking at the 4e stickies on this site and other starlet and toyota sites. Any pointers or input would be cool. Ill start posting pictures once I get things installed.

After a couple months of waiting for my starlet caliper rebuild kit and ordering it from multiple places. I ended up paying 3x more and buying it from a Toyota dealership in the UK off of eBay. Came in today after 10 days of waiting.

Already rebuilt the calipers . Tomorrow I'm going to reinstall calipers and check fuel pump. Car was starting fine before, now there's no fuel pressure. Going to play with diagnostic box to rule out fuel pump. Hoping I can get it running soon before I start ordering expensive parts/upgrades.

Also the outer bearing on manaul transmission sounds like it needs to be replaced. Probably the first thing I will do before anything if the engine is strong. What is the most convenient way to get an LSD going? Do I need to order a whole new transmission?

Finally have had some time to work on the tercel over the last month or so. The turbo upgrade is about 90% complete. I have to install a new master clutch cylinder and finish hooking up the aem wideband before i can get it tuned. Ill try to get some pictures up over the next couple days.

So i got it up and running and i have to say its a lot quicker than i thought it was going to be. It pulls like crazy and the torque steer is out of control. Going to do the timing belt and oil pump tomorrow. I'm going to finish cleaning it up some and hopefully get some track time in it here soon. There's a local rally track i'm going to try out and there's a circuit race track club here also. The car needs an lsd and some more suspension work but i'm happy with the results.

Yeah my TD04 5e is a riot, lots of power for such a small car. Easily roasts quality tires through second gear on 20 psi. It's pretty hilarious.

lol driving the car before the tune was right i was like hell yeah.... after a few hours playing with the a/f i realized that this car is ridiculous. When people come over they ask about the celica gt there facial expression is priceless when i tell them the tercel is actually the fast one.

Man its killer i have to drive around with the windows down and a gallon of water to stay hydrated. I'm going to try to fit one from a tercel or paseo, but it's been too hot to go back to pick n pull.

Thats cool i have some family down in houston that i visit often. Maybe next time ill bring the tercel next time. I actually bought this one there from a guy names William. This is my secons 4efte the first one blew up.
