The Hoopty 2.0

Moving on from the late "Hopty 1.0" I'm pleased to introduce hoopty 2.0

-Feb 2016 Update - 4EFTE Installed!

Picked up a stock 92 Silver 4spd 3EE w/140k in Dec 2013

Upgrades:
5th Gen Tercel 5 Speed w/.725 5th gear
MR2 Wheels w/205/50/15 rubber
15%/5% tint + 5% windshield strip
Full stereo+speaker swap + replaced lousy wiring job
Full interior swap (everything minus dash)
Corolla/MX3 Brake Upgrade
Paseo Cluster
Dash Clock
DX Headlights
Paseo Sway bar + enegery susp poly bushings
Whiteline Strut bar
KYB struts all around
Optima Yellowtop Cranking/Deep Cycle (I have my reasons)

Misc Maint/Repairs:
Clutch
Rear/front seals,
timing belt
valve cover gaskets
exhaust gaskets
cv shaft
o2
pcv
plugs
Catalytic Converter
valve lash adjust
signal stalk
Dash light bulbs

It was a dark, bad running bad brake having, bouncy loose terror when I got it, but runs great and handles like a champ now. Still have some outstanding issues such as a leaky heater core to fix. Also rather annoyed at the persistent transmission and oil leaks despite having replaced all the seals :irked:

Future plans might involve 4E swap, but it runs fine as is and I have a Mazdaspeed3 if I wanna get my zoom on so meh...
Then again I have all the workings for a plug n play drop in 4e in the garage so who knows.

When I got it:

Now:

Update on the car:

Just completed 4EFTE swap today. Kept the 5th Gen 5spd for highway cruising/fuel econ, that and the fact that every single 4E for sale was auto. MR2 wheel paint cracked and fell off, then one of the tires bubbled badly so they are shelved. Corolla brakes also warped due to an apparent bent hub, get a steady wobble from the wheel at 10mph, so those came off too.

Swap was pretty straight forward since I kept the harness and all the other required items from the previous swap in 2012. Now just have to finish the little things, boost controller (waste gate boost for shakedown), intake, intercooler and AC belt/Tensioning solution.

Will eventually resray the MR2 wheels, get new tires, fix the hubs, put the corolla brakes back on. Just further down the list lol.
