Has the pump gotten louder since you initially installed it?

Yup! You should have your regulator boost referenced, basically just have a vacuum line to the intake manifold.

You have no reference to increase fuel pressure under boosted situations. You have a static fuel pressure at all times of 50psi then you add 10psi of boost to the engine. This will reduce fuel pressure at the tip of the injector by 10 psi. Now you have 40psi and your fuel delivery will go down the more you raise the boost and hence leaning out the a/f ratio.

You can goto a larger injector and yes this will fix it, until you raise the boost again. This is just a bad way to go about it, the larger the injector the worse daily driving can be.

The easy way to fix this is to simply add a boost reference line to your regulator. The normal rising ratio of a FPR is 1 pound of FP:1 pound of boost. FP on a typical return system is 40-42 psi, so with 10psi of boost FP will increase 10psi to 50-52psi and even more if additional boost is applied.

Couple of questions, please amuse me and tell me......

1.) What type of fuel pressure regulator you're using?

2.) Where is your fp guage located, under the hood or somewhere you can see it while driving?

If your fp is too high at idle its gonna be hard to control idle a/f, it should be 30-32psi at idle with the vacuum line connected, pull the line off and it should be 40-42 psi.

Thanks, Doug

No the fuel pump has not gotten louder with time. Its always been the same.

And as far as the fpr it is boost reference. It sits the in the engine bay so I can't see it while driving. And don't judge me but its a no brand fpr lol. I've had it since about three yrs ago never has given problems.

Should I bring down my fp to 30-35 at idle?
