Parts Interchangeability List

In the past few weeks, noobs seeking information have brought up the lack of a parts interchangeability list, so I figured we should compile a (hopefully) complete one. I’ll start with a few things just to get it started, but could use input from the rest of you, so just post your info and I’ll add it to this post. Please correct any incorrect info I’ve posted.

I hope organizing the info like this makes sense. :dunno:

good thread...
next, add paseo brake conversion compatibility... (3rd gen tercel needs paseo hub...)
rear 1st gen paseo seats into 4th gen coupe only... (add bracket for the latch)
also, door handles & antenna swap over between tercel/paseo...
steering wheels, center console, cupholders, dome light...

nothing is true, everything is permissible...

3rd gen rear axle has a different/lower position for the shock mount... it can be used on 4th/5th gen tercel & paseo to get a bit more rear drop...
conversely, a 3rd gen tercel can use a 4th/5th gen tercel or paseo axle to get a bit of rear lift...
i think its only about 1"...

i can't believe i forgot to mention gauge clusters...:dunce:
and clocks...
edit: and 1st gen paseo steering wheels swap to 4th gen tercels, vice-verse...

as well as the shock itself from the rear of a 4th or 5th gen can be used to lower the ride height of a 3rd gen

lowering springs of 4th and 5th gens can also be used to significantly lower a 3rd gen

see pictures of FIRE...these are stock 5th gen front struts and lowering springs on the front and stock 5th gen rear struts with 94 integra stock front springs with one coil removed on the rear.

for auto to manual conversions; 4th gen Tercel and 1st gen Paseo clutch and brake pedals are interchangeable and 5th gen Tercel and 2nd gen pedals are interchangeable

shifters are interchangeable between all 4th and 5th gen Tercels and 1st and 2nd gen Paseos.

5th gen shifters can be used in 4th gens for cup holder clearance

clutch master and lines also 4th/5thTerc, 1st/2nd Seo interchangeable

clutch slaves are 3rd gen inclusive

driver's side manual tranny mount spans 3rd to 5th gen, no matter the difference in appearance

passenger side mount is the same between 4th/5th, 1st/2nd gen as well

5 bolt mounts are interchangeable between 4th/5th and 1st/2nd...5th gen Terc and 2nd gen Seo rear mounts have exhaust hangers as a plus

more to come.....

One clarification, so are the front struts are the same for 3rd - 5th gen Tercels?

no 3rd gen front struts had a replaceable cartridge

it may also be physically taller than successive gens

you can also add glanza shifter to the list of cross matches

and a correction: starlet GT/ Glanza axles outboard cv joints have a different spline count than Tercs and Seos (i think it may be 18 vs 21 splines or some such) so no matchy

what about the different front strut top-mount bolts on some tercels/paseos...(3 vs 4) why is this, & is it relevant to interchangeability...?
also, i know 5efhe front axles have same spline count as 4th gen tercel, is it also 3rd, 5th, & paseos...?

if the axles are 4th gen Terc compatible then they'll work for 3rd and 5th as well as Paseos.

the 4 bolt top strut mounts are usually Paseo and Starlet equipment but yes they will work on Tercs too.

many parts swap over...

those cars are so rare though, it's highly unlikely to come across parts for them
