Pictures of the old girl along with the tire comparo will come soon. I went ahead to drop the manual rack and column today. The rack went in without a problem whereas the column, well:

The manual U-Joint:

Compared to the Power Steering U-Joint and column:

Another view of the current issue:

The lowering spring on the car:

The part number on the manual steering rack nut:

The nuts themselves:

And the part number for the screws:

Moar pics of the screws:

The mandrel bent snake which needs to be tucked in:

The car again:

I also bought a dual core radiator from an auto terc with fans. I also bought all the AC components which where intact; the o-rings and the R134 were still fresh from the lines, awesome!

that's gotta be the case

when we did the manual rack on the Vtec Hunter and couldn't find a manual column, we had to weld an extension onto the ps column so it would reach the manual rack/u joint.:deal:

Cool. Time to go hunting again and bitch at them folks who sold me that column. Car-part told me that there are 2 manual columns in St Pete and 1 in Orlando; If I have to drive to Orlando, I really wont' be happy with the fhags who sold me the wrong column.

Just wanted to double-check with you:
-does the auto tranny bellhousing use the same bolts as the manual bellhousing?
-The TB gasket of the 1st gen Paseo is the same as the 4E TB, correct?

Also, I found out yesterday afternoon from the machine shop that Sleepyrz flywheel can't be resurfaced (after I called to check on the status of the job); a flywheel I dropped monday morning at 9am which was supposedly supposed to be done on tuesday morning, GAY!

The clutch is supposed to be here tuesday from the tracking number I received today.

I'm going out for that gasket and the bolts in a few.

I don't why I didn't think of giving you the flywheel. Want me to ship it to you?

Would you like some Robitussin for that cough? :lachen:

I got the correct column and see the difference for yourself(Manual on the left and Power on the right):

The day's not over yet, so onto cleaning, wrenching and wiring

So I did more cleaning Friday and dropped the column:

Stripped the front end:

Did a little taping job on the connectors:

Although I taped that guy, I made sure water didn't get near it:

Some before pictures:

Now, the after:

Off course, I forgot to clean this guy:

And props to those guys:

And Yesterday, the owner asked me to get rid of the car and the motor or they will do it for me, meaning I had to tow the car and motor across town in a garage I used to intern at.
