The wire should be yellow. Here's a couple of options to add, 1, make sure the cut is in a place where it cn be reassembled if needed.
2, the cut can be made a lot closer to the instrument cluster as this wire comes directly from the speedometer.
3, instead of a plain cut you can install a switch so the CEL doesn't irritate you everytime you pass about 50mph and light up.

why cut it when you can just pull the pin, then if you need to you can just push it right back in.

on the side you pop up a pice on the plug, then where the wire is you need a really small flat screwdriver to pull up the tab in the plug and pull the wire out

Not every time, but pretty much every time you hit 60mph or so. It was much better to have a light on that I knew why it was on than a car that was limited to third gear.:deal:

Yes I did mine. I cut the wire about 3" away from the ecu.

:iwdumbass:

sometimes in the middle of a race i'd count down to the CEL...3,2,1...shift :lachen: should the race have to go over 115 mph :smug:, i wouldn't have to worry about somebody throwing a parachute out my window though... (that's what it feels like when you hit the speed limiter with a decent amount of power under foot). :deal:

the seat belt will have you lookin like this guy>>:blah:
