My project Tercel

So, I'm pretty new here, I found this site because I was looking for a Toyota Tercel forum. This is actually my dad's old car, he had it sitting out (for shame) and I needed a new car after the ex took the old one. I've actually learned a lot just by doing the auto body and interior restoration. The majority of the body is good, aside from some minor rust (no holes bigger than 2" thankfully) but the engine needs some TLC and the manual transmission is a nightmare.
Pretty much everything transmission related is on it's last legs, the clutch has lots of travel, and feels spongy, the linkage slips so the transmission struggles to go in gear, and the syncros themselves don't stay in gear beyond 2nd gear. Should be fun...

So its been forever since I've logged on here: Anyways..my rearview mirror on the drivers side broke during the car wash, mechanic guy fixed it, then a few weeks later, it fell off when I was backing up of a narrow driveway..I have to go to the mechanic again soon..

And I'm not sure if I told you guys all this before, but I don't think I can't go to a car wash anymore because my wipers have a mind of its own, they won't turn off when water hits it, at all. When everything dries, they automatically stop...I asked my mechanic that, and he evaluated it, and it still does it, he said maybe I have some sort of special feature??

Yup, figured the 3M protection would be a 'nice-to-have' feature.

You can't find cars like these today. Reliable and functional.
It has a 6in ground clearance and about 20deg approach angle (unheard of in such a small package).

I see all these modern cars scrape the driveways and the shopping plaza entrances.
