Corolla Brake swap

Hello

Have anybody tried to swap the AE-111 257 mm front brakes to a Tercel/Starlet? Could be done that with almost none modification?
I have understood that the Tercel / Starlet front discs are 239 mm in diameter, in vented and solid versions.
Also i found that the european AE-111 have the 257 mm diameter than the glanza, so i guess that are the same.

Thanks

Best Regards

1st generation Paseo rotors are 254mm. Only 3mm smaller than the Corollas you mentioned. That has been the cheapest swap so far.

According to Brembo, the largest front rotors the Corolla had in the USA was in 1993+94 @ 255mm. Only 1mm larger than the Paseo. But I wonder if the caliper bracket is the same. Reason I wonder is because there could be cheaper "big brake" kits available for that Corolla.-sly-

I have doubs with the differences between those discs, corolla discs are widers than the paseo brakes, so that`s why i`m not very sure about the swap.

Good point. wonder if the corolla calipers and mounts would bolt onto a Tercel if also using the corolla rotors. Doesn't Alf's GF have a corolla of that year range? might need to test this out....

Paseo 18mm (17mm min)
Corolla 22mm (20mm min)

As mentioned before a set of 92-95 Paseo rotors and caliper brackets is a bolt-on upgrade for a Tercel. I did the swap and it made a HUGE difference. One wouldn't think going from 238mm to 254mm rotors would make that big a difference, but it did.

I can only imagine how awsome larger ones would be.

As a comparative information

EP-90 /EP 80 Starlet /EL44 Tercel O.D 226mm /Total wide from hub contact line 36.5 mm /Thk 11mm (Solid Discs)

EP-91 Starlet/EL-5X Tercel O.D. 238 mm / Total wide from hub contact line 37.7 mm / Thk 18mm(Vented Discs)

EP-91 Glanza/Paseos O.D. 254 mm / Total wide from hub contact line 37.7 mm / Thk 18mm(Vented Discs)

AE-101/AE-111 Corolla O.D. 255 mm / Total wide from hub contact line 42.1 mm / Thk 22mm(Vented Discs)

I think that the space occupied by the wider discs (about 3mm) can be given by a couple of washers in hte brackets bolts. My biggest doubt is if the brackets from the corolla will fit in the hub of my EP-90 Starlet.

Because i`m living in a crazy country, the starlet`s solids discs are more expensives than the corolla`s ones. And i could find a corolla`s drilled and sloted discs in about the half of the price. Crazy isn`t it?

I`ll start to look for the calipers and brackets. If i find any other information i`ll post it.

Thanks for your answers

Best Regards

Oh i forget it
The 1st gen pase have the same 238mm dics.

As a general info:

I asked the same questions on ep-91.com and they recommended my to swap the AE-101/AE-111 Levin GTZ superstruts front brakes that have and O.D. of 280mm and they said that is a straight fit. Here i can`t find these pieces, buy if any of you find it useful there is the info:

http://www.ep91.com/showthread.php?t=48

Thanks you all again.
I?ll try the swap and post the pics as soon i find the pieces.
